Our client has a Partner ACS R7 and is receiving at random times phantom phone calls. They come into random lines and it sounds like a fax beep when we pick it up. We went the phone company route and found the calls were not coming from the outside, according to them. Sometimes they will ring 10-20 times within an hour and it will just beep like the beginning of a fax transmission. Is this the ACS causing this or is it something else?

Thanks.

I think I remember a post where, and correct me if I'm wrong, that if an extension has its calls being covered by another extension, there will be a beep.

The post was a while ago so I'm not 100% sure.

1 quick side note, if the processor is still an "E", it might well be worth the time to get it flashed up to the "K" level. [smile]

I will check the group 7 ports.
How do i flash the system to version k?

If your system is supported by an Authorized Avaya Business Partner, contact them and they will do it for you.

If it was purchased from an outside dealer, contact them to see if they can send you the PC card and instructions.

If it was a private purchase or the dealer cannot ship you the card, contact a local A.A.B.P. to see if they will do it for you.
