Hello
I have developed a MS Access 2002 database that needs to be packaged to run as a stand-alone application. Previously, we have used the MS Office XP Developer Packaging Wizard which seems to do most things we require.
However, the wizard is now falling over when it automatically scans for dependencies (although you can click OK and continue). This may mean it is not picking up any dependencies I don't know about (I do manually add the ones I do know about!) Once this has occurred, the wizard completes the build, set-up works but a run-time error occurs as the application tries to run AutoExec at the start.
Reading MS Office XP Developer help files I note a paragraph:
"Note: If your Microsoft® Office application or COM add-in has an event that requires user intervention when the application starts, then your application cannot be packaged using the Packaging Wizard alone. It must be packaged using the add-in."
I assume this is the problem, as the application opens with a username and password login form.
Can anyone help me with finding out what "the add-in" is, what I do with it / how I create it etc?
Thanks
Benw
