I made a setup for a vb application but whenever I start it I am getting the message:"
C:\Winnt\setup.lst
Invalid line in setup information file
section: setup1 files
'name of the file'"

I analysed setup.lst but couldn't find anything that might look wrong. I tried to change the order of the files in section: setup1 as well as I reinstalled the operating system (in order to have 'clean' machine) but there was no progress. Could anyone help me, it's really urgent! Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Rather than using the package & deployment wizard, you can use the Windows Installer application (available from the Microsoft web site for free).

This is very easy and quick to use, and is more sophisticated than the PDW. It also specialises in VB applications.

Try reinstalling PDW as there maybe some corrupt files, especially if you may have tinkered with any of the source code.

Once reinstalled repacked your project and see if that works.

If you want you could email your setup.lst file to me and I could have a look at it. Regards
