Hi Friends,

I am having 11C with call pilot and 2 ITG cards with OTM.
I need to power down the sytem and to bring it back after 2 days. i want to know what is the exact procedure for both the activities (with commands will be helpful).

Regards

First of all, I'd do backups on everything in case of a failure on restarting the varoius systems and that would be the 11c and Call Pilot applications.

Also sync the 11c database with the OTM and then carry out a backup of the OTM, before switching it off.

Power everything down and leave it switched off. It might be wise to unplug the Call Pilot card and ITG cards.

Power up the Option 11c system first and wait a few minutes until all of the lights on the cards start showing Green or go out etc. You might need to re enable any ISDN D Channels etc.

Plug in the Call Pilot and this will take up to 10 minutes. You can also plug in the ITG cards.

The reason for this is that sometimes it loses the IP connection if the IP applications power up before the 11c system, although you can always press the reset button on them if needed!.

This method should be OK for you.

thanks for the information...i would go like this, correct me if i am wrong...
1) ld 43 and take an edd
2) ld 143 and take external backup

3) from OTM synchronise ( send and retreive) and take the backup, also would like to know how much will be the backup size.
4) is there any backups for ITG cards.

after doing backup, i need to shutdown CP first and then OTM PC and then pabx.

please let me know if any changes are there.

regards

I can't be certain of the OTM backup size as this would depend on what data is collected by your OTM server. The sequence of your planned backup and shutdown / restart looks fine.

The OTM Server can be switched off when ever it's not doing anything. The data held on the ITG cards can be retrieved onto the OTM Server.

My main concern is the backup status of your call pilot system. Are you able to back it onto another Server or Tape drive?. Anyway it's rare for them to fail on reboot.
