P690 DLPAR - Questions

Is there anyway to perform a Dynamic Allocation of a I/O Adapter or some other type of device via the AIX command line without using the HMC?? Anotherwords what happens if the HMC goes down can DLPAR functions still be performed?

Is there anyway to set up the HMC so it can only see one particular partiotion? So two different users or customers can use the P690 without seeing eachothers partitions/data???

That would be a "no" to both of your questions. You can learn all of this on IBMs LPAR and p690 course.
