Hi

We have a new HMC (replaced the old one as it was faulty) and I want to discover a live P590 Managed Server. I have configured two LAN Adapters, one open and one private. How do I discover the IP Addresses of a Managed Server (using the Find Managed Systems tab - but don't know the IP range to put in)? Its in production, so I can't turn it off/on

Any help greatly appreciated

If you use static IP's then you can read the HMC1's or HMC2's IPs (the ones configured in ASMI) from operation panel (in menu you can find them on 3001 and 3002 options)

You can also read these IPs from the panel and then add systems manually using menu: /Servers managemen/Add managed systems/ - use the IP you found on operation panel...

As far as I remember there is also possibility to scan from HMC GUI the network for searching/discover managed systems.

In HMC7, you can scan network topology (it's under HMC Management).
If the new HMC uses the same addresses as the old one, you'll see the p590 in the topology output.
