Hello,

I have a p570 with 4 partition

We reboot our partitions every Monday (shutdown -Fr). No one partition can reboot. The shutdown is ok but they don't reboot.

The partitions have the state "running" on the hmc... ping and telnet are ko (the shutdown processing seems ok).

Solution : shutdown the partition with the hmc (the shutdown OS options are not available) and then activate the partitions.

Is anyone have this pb ?

I'm sorry, I was a little confused by your post.

Did any of the partitions reboot? How many partitions are having problems? Are you micro partitioning? Are you using VIO servers ( if so, how many )? SEA(s) or VSCSI?

What do you mean by the ping test is ok ? Is the partition(s) up or down right now? If they are down, make sure all the required resources are available (and that the power on partition is up).

Did any of the partitions reboot ? No partition reboot automatically

How many partitions are having problems ? the 4 partitions are having the pb

Are you micro partitioning ? Yes we are using the micro partitioning

Are you using VIO servers? we only have a virtual ethernet adapter to communicate between the 4 partitions (slot n°=2, port virtual lan id=1 for the 4 partitions)

I did'nt said ping is ok, I've said ping is KO that means the network is down on each partition.

Is the partition(s) up or down right now ? The 4 partitions are up now but it is necessary to make a manual operation on the hmc. The 4 partitons are not up automatically. it's like a "shutdown -F" command result, but we have executed the "shutdown -Fr" command.

On the hmc The 4 partitions have the "running" state but I can't open a terminal window from the hmc.

Sorry, just an observation. I'm sure hfaix took KO to be a typo of OK, rather than Knocked Out as it seems to be meant here, as I did!
