the 510 box seems to have two serial ports.
as I have read then box is managed by HMC, the serial ports are controlled by service procesor. in my case single HMC is used.

Qeustion:
is there a way to configure a virtual serial adapter on LPAR so it can be used for remote console openning on older P4 server?
I would like to cable a serial adapter/port from P5 with serial port on P4 server and then use kermit to open a console from P5 LPAR.

is it feasible? if yes what steps are to be done?

The on board serial ports are NOT available for general use when the POWER5 server is managed by an HMC.

The virtual serial adapter devices are only available as virtual serial console device to the HMC.
