p5-570 to a p6-570

Our company has Sungard as a disaster recovery site.
They recommended that we use p6-570 machines instead of the current p5-570 machines that we have in house.
The question is will mksysb work?
Anything to watch out for when restore to a different machine, in this case a p6?

Assumng the device configuration is the same...watch out for adapters being configured in a different order and therefore adapter configurations not working, etherchannel can be a real pain here, then as long as your 570 was installed with all devices (device drivers) then it should restore OK to an MMA.

I think the MMA needs at least AIX 5.3 TL06.

If you can have an AIX install CD set at the same level as your 570 available when you try the restore in case you need to pick up any missing filesets.

As it is a DR solution I hope you will be able to thoroughly test it before you need to rely on it.

If you have LPARs then you need to consider a whole load of other things too like profile recovery, VIOS, Etc.
