OWS not sending emails

I have installed DNA 5.6 SP1 version and the OWS client machines have a problem with sending emails.
The customer is using Exchange 2010.
When the client tries to search for a email address to find an email address it says " email address cannot be found"
Can this be a problem with the virus guard or anything similar? I cant find any error log files also to determine what the problem is
