OWS 3 installation 2

Hi All!

I have just installed an operator workstation on a windows xp.
The installation was succesfull, but when I would start it is saying the following error massage:

Cannot retrieve the password format from local database.

Do you have any idea what is the problem?

What DNA version and SP/HF level?
This is on a client PC not server?
Is this a workgroup or same domain as server?
What OS is server?
Do you have green RDS plug at bottom of OWS screen?

Hi parnum,

It is DNA 3.0.037
OWS is on an XP client.
Both the ows and dna server is part of the domain, though they cannot reach domain controller because of network isolation. But ows can reach dna share.
DNA server is NT4.0
Greenn RDS plug: I cannot remember exactly I think not, I cannot even login.
Doesn't matter what user/password I enter, the error message is the same: "Cannot retrieve the password format from local database"

I can check tomorrow but DNA3... NT... :/

XP i'm certain was not released or supported at that time, I don't think this will work, but I will check this. DNA 3 must be 10 years+ old now? You have to upgrade, even DNA 4.1 is better if you are trying to use license.exe not ELM, but really, you have to replace hardware and software...

As I thought, the last service pack 7 for DNA3 was released in July 2000, Windows XP was not released until 2001, so this is not compatible, XP did not exist when DNA 3 was released.

in fact DNA 4.1 SP6 does not support XP either...

XP SP2+ client are supported from DNA 5.2.
be aware that DNA5.2 does not support MD110's older than BC10
