I have a Windows 2003 server sp2 with exchange 2003 sp2. We only have one external domain name and about 20 users.

OWA itself works and users can access it fine but I have a slight issue when users try to log off of OWA. When we login we do "NOT" have to specify the netbios domain name. We only type in the user name and password which allows users to login with no issues what so ever. However in order to logoff correctly we "HAVE" to put in the netbios domain name and user name (doamin\username). When we hit the log off button a window pops up asking us for our login credentials.

Anyone have any idea why we would only have to do this when we log off???

Check in IIS on the exchweb/bin directory on the directory security tab in authentication and access control if the default domain is selected. There is where the logoff page is located.

If that's the case, you may want to verify the permissions for all of the virtual directories. Look at the ~7th post here: thread955-1295584. markdmac lists what they should all be set to.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

We should probably talk Mark into making that into an FAQ since it comes up a lot.
