Hello,

I am not sure if this can be done.

I inherited an 2003 exchange server. The way the users are setup is that there is a folder called mail in another server, in the mail folder there are more folders with each user name, that is where each pst for each user lives.
When I came in I as why and what they told me was, PORTABILITY. I am not sure if this is the right approach but in any case.
I was wondering if you could open one of the pst files from
OWA?
As is right now everytime I open my OWA it gives me the default exchange mailbox.

thank you in advance

As far as I know, you cannot open your PST file with OWA. We do keep our PST files on a file server but in each user's home directory so they are the only ones with access to it.

in here is kind of the same, each folder has permission set for each user

jlmartini is correct - you can't open .pst files from OWA. Also, just an FYI that networked .pst files are NOT supported by Microsoft, and not recommended.

Just to clarify, these are your archived mailboxes messages right? Exchange doesn't use PST files for active mail, not to be confused with OST files, which conceptually shouldn't be on a network
