OWA not working without logon.asp added?????

What can I change so that I can use

http://outlook.com

(for example) instead of

http://outlook.com/exchange/logon.asp?

(I'm using Exchange 5.5)

When I type

http://outlook.com,

I get the logon screen but the next screen is this error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'

Object required: 'Application(...)'

/LogonFrm.asp, line 60

I've tried fixes on Microsoft's site with the same VB error but a Logon.asp line 12, but this doesn't help.

If I type the whole line

http://outlook.com/exchange/logon.asp

I can get mail with no problems?
