Hi there,

I created a new user a couple of weeks ago and have only just recently been informed that they can't access the account via OWA. It works for everyone else. When I try it internally (ie: inside the firewall), it generates this error:

The website declined to show this webpage
HTTP 403
Most likely causes:
This website requires you to log in.

What you can try:
Go back to the previous page.

More information

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

When I do it from outside of the network, I get this message:

You are not authorized to view this page
You might not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied.

If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may be listed on the owa.geminicorp.ab.ca home page.

You can click Search to look for information on the Internet.

HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix this? I have gone through all the security rights I can think of for this particular user and compared it to another similar user and haven't found any differences...

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Owa needs to be enabled on the Exchange Features tab in the AD, but Im sure you checked that, its usually enabled by default anyway.

Sounds like yes, but have you tried to log on as this user on a different computer?

If that works, maybe reset the users IE.

OWA is enabled in their AD. I even disabled it, applied the changes, then re-enabled it and applied the changes, thinking it might give something a kick.

I have tried from both home computers and multiple work machines, so yes, that angle has been tried as well.

Account locked out maybe? Im sure you checked that.

Heres a MS article that might help, but for Exchange 5.5 only: (which version are you running?)

Think maybe you might need to backup the users mailbox and delete the user and re-create it and than restore the mailbox.

Add the AD user manually under mailbox rights and allow permissions - That works for me all the time.

Trana,

Nope, not locked. I'm using Exchange 2003 (6.5) fully patched. I have a feeling I might have to back up the mail, remove Exchange attributes, and redo the account. What a PITA as it is a general mailbox for our Human Resources department. *sighs* Might try an Exchange server reboot too?

Maya14,

I tried that, didn't work either. *shrugs*

Cheers,
