Hello Dear Teks!

I Need help with a (maybe basic) problem regarding certificates for OWA with Exchange server 2007.

I manage a windows 2011 essential with Exchange 2007 server. A few days ago, users told me about a certificate problem they had when starting outlook: certificate expired. Looked in the certificate list on the server: the remote.domainname.com certificate webserver was expired. Now, i know i should have renewed it in Exchange powershell, but then, after googling it, someone told that he just deleted the certificate and rebooted the server... wich i did.

It solved the outlook certificate problem internaly. But the next morning, nobody was able to contact the server with their mobile phone. My guess is it's because i deleted the certificate.

Now, my next step is to recreate the certificate, but there is a lot of different opinions about that.
I'm pretty sure it was a self signed certificate.

My question: How to create a new certificate via the powershell, that would be use for OWA. What kind of certificate i need? I'm really new to this, so i'm kind in nowhere land!

Thank you!

Jeremie
