OWA- cant post emails- red x in text box

Hi,
I am having a problem with outlook web access on one of my computers when I use internet explorer (version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633)

I can post new appointments and tasks, but when I try to start a new email, or reply to one, I cannot write any text in the box where text usually goes. It looks like this (a box with a red x)...

This only happens on the one computer. My other computers with the same IE version except for xpsp1, don’t have the problem. I have found other users with the problem by googling, but I have not found a solution to the problem.

I have confirmed all the IE options to be the same on both computers, and have tried multiple configurations on the one with the problem, to no avail.

Does anyone know about this bug, or does anyone know of a way to easily change internet explorer back to xpsp1?

in a nutshell I imported two registry settings from a known good computer, even though it was SP1, which fixed my sp2 computer.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2D360200-FFF5-11D1-8D03-00A0C959BC0A}
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2D360201-FFF5-11D1-8D03-00A0C959BC0A}

Figured I would post the answer in case anyone else runs into this problem.
