Hi,

I am using MS Exchange 2000 and the OWA option is being used. Most of the time this works very well. However, we do have a problem and wondered if any of you experts can help.

Some users experience log in issues when they are outside the company. They type in their username, password and domain name. The PC goes off and authenticates the user and starts to display the web page. But while it is doing so the log in box re-appears and the user has to log on again. This will keep happening. Once the page is loaded (before the Emails and infomation are displayed) the web page will stop loading and no more data will come through.

This does not happen internally. I am wondering if it is an issue with exchange at all (as I can log on fine within the organisation). For information I am using a watchguard Firebox 700 as a firewall.

If anyone else has experienced these issues, please let me know.

Thanks in advnace for your reply.

I had this same issue, the problem was that I had removed the log on locally rights from all of the users but the admins. This will cause an issue with OWA correctly authenticating the users when they are connecting remotely.

Create a security group and put the users that will need to connect to OWA remotely and give that group log on locally rights.

There is a MS knowledge base about this issue, I just don't remember what the number is.

Actually this was an issue in Exchange 2000 also, I know beacuse it just happened to me and this fixed it.
