OWA and Connectivity

Hi! I am attempting to implement OWA on our Exchange Server 5.5. So far, I have been able to install the components needed for OWA and can access Oulook Web Access from my Internet Browser from inside the network.

My only question is: How do I set OWA up be accessed from outside the network? If someone is away from the office, what address do they use to access OWA?

I have never dealt with OWA before and now sure how it is interfaced to the outside world. I have a static IP address available on the Server. When the employee is trying to access OWA from outside the office, are they accessing OWA directly connecting to the Server or does OWA need to publish to a web site? This is where my confusion lies?

If anyone could provide information on this set up or possibly refer me to a link that may provide detailed information on connecting to the outside world, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

hi !!!

no problem...you need the following...

static internetconnection for your
exchange server + static ip-adress to access
the server at any time from outside your company.

if you have a firewall, traffic through
port 80 must be possible in both directions...

open a internet explorer, type
nothing else is necessarily...

by the way...

owa can be installed on the
same server where exchange is
installed, or on any other server
running IIS...
