Hi all,

I have a automated process to create AD user accounts and mailboxes.

However it seems that the person cannot log into webmail until they have logged on locally at least once.

Any ideas why? Any way i can get round this?

TIA

HI Plank,

I belive the mailbox has to be 'activated' for want of a better word.

This can be done by simply sending them a test email to the address.

I just tried this and unfortuately didnt make a difference.

Any other ideas

Aha - sorted it.

I needed to send an email and stop there password from needing to be changed. I had done one, and done the other - but not both together.

Thanks all.

Actually, you shouldn't need to send them an email. Once ther recipient update service stamps the account with an SMTP address, they should be able to log in without a problem (assuming the password checkbox isn't checked).

That didnt seem to work for me yesterday. I tried hours after an account was created and it didnt seem to work.
