I have OWA 5.5 set up on a W2K IIS server (Exchange is on a seperate machine). I have ports 80 (http) and 443 (https)open on my firewall to allow external traffic to the machine.
Is it prudent to limit available ports on the IIS machine to protect from internal traffic? When I went into advanced configuration and filtered all ports except 80 and 443 our users were not able to open their mailboxes. Did I exclude a necessary port or is port filtering not necessary internally on the network.
