We run a large network and the server group will not let me access their servers. Over the past couple weeks some of the agents have stopped working and I found out that opcragt can remotely start these agents again.

Problem: This file is not installed by default. Does anyone know how to install it on the OVO server.

You can run commands remotely through the agents, as long as the opcctla (Control Agent) is running on the client via the opctranm command.

More info is available at:

The basic format is:
1) Create a file (e.g. /tmp/file1) with the following format:
client.domain.com
!df -k

2) Run the following command at the shell prompt:
opctranm -f /tmp/file1

That will run the "df -k" command (please note the exclamation mark before the command in the file) on the client (client.domain.com) and return the results to your current screen.

It's pretty straight forward and you can run multiple commands by putting the next command on the third line (with exclamation mark), etc.

Hope this helps...

Forgot to mention that OVO is running on a Win 2K box...

Did open up a ticket with HP on this and they basically said that the opcragt feature is currently available for OVO for Unix only. They have sent it on to the developpers for development but as of now, OVO for Windows does not support this feature. See link below:

Thanks for the help Jepoy.

payettm,
What you can do is use a tool like xnet.exe, part of kixtart. With this you can start and stop services remote. Create a tool under your tools section and let it run using HP-ITO agent credentials.
Hope this works for you as a workaround.
