I have a table in Access 2002 linked to an Excel Spreadsheet on a network. The spreadsheet is created from extracting values from AutoCAD, and it needs to be overwritten each time the values are extracted.
However, when I overwrite the Excel spreadsheet, Access now gives me an error that the Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table. When going to the Linked Table Manager, I notice that the Excel link has some value included in the path, such as '~cs19$~'. Evidently, each time the spreadsheet is overwritten this value changes, and the link can no longer be found. Is this a bug, or if not, is there a way to overwrite the spreadsheet so the link stays intact?
Thanks,
Jeremy
