i have this message when i backup "Please insert overwritable media into the robotic library using the import command.

Overwritable media includes scratch, blank, and recyclable media. Please note that depending on the current Media Overwrite Protection setting, imported and allocated media may be overwritable as well. Consult the online help for more information on overwritable media."

i have BE 8.5 with exabyte autoloader 7 tapes
It doesnt load the tapes to back it up although i can backup under a stand alone drive.
Any solutions?

thanks

Have you 'inventoried' your tapes? After loading the tapes into the library, they must be inventoried so that Veritas knows how many and where they are. I use 8.6 so I don't know where to go in 8.5 to inventory the tapes....look through HELP.

Yes, i've already inventoried my tapes. In fact the only way that i can make the robot arm move to switch tapes is when i inventory it.

Also I am able to back up data but only as a standalone drive while the tape is manually inserted into its slot. The robot arm wont load it.
