We currently are printing a report on a pre-printed form from our mainframe, on a dot-matrix printer, which is running zOS 1.4 with VPS for printing.
What we want to do is convert this form to an overlay and have the mainframe send the overlay to the Xerox and then send the print job with the &f#y4X command so that it prints the overlay of the form on the report.
Here is what I have done so far. I have created an overlay file that has the macro id, start macro, data, and stop macro in it. I have been able to manually send this to the xerox and then add the above command to the print file that is created by the mainframe and the xerox prints as I want it to. The issue is that the Xerox cannot permanently store the macro so if the printer gets powered off for any reason it is gone.
Does anyone know how I can get the mainframe to send this overlay first and then send the print job? Also one of the "wants" is to also print our terms and conditions on the back of the form. This would also be an overlay but I don't know how to get the second overlay to print on the back of the page.
