Hi, I was wondering if any one could give a description of overlay 60 and 96 and when to use them or point to an idiots guide.

Im from the Uk and we use a range of ISDN30 , MCDN, DPNSS, Qsig circuits.

I know you can do a stat, enable, disable of a isdn circuit in overlay 60, but what is 96 used for?

Any help would be appriciated as usual.

Regards Nick.

Hi Buddy thanks for that. I need a little more information please. I have a loop where all the channels are disabled. I can see this in overlay 60 and an out of service alarm. I went to overlay 96 and did a stat on the D channel (stat dch Loop) but the switch gave back little information on the D channels status. What command do I use ot get more D channel information. Do I need to try and enable the D channel fisrt in overlay 96 and then the loop in overlay 60. Plus is there a way of finding out if it as local or far end alram.

Any help, is appreciated

Regards
Nick.

Red alarm is typically remote and yellow local.
LD 96 DIS DCH x (x being DChannel you are working with)
LD 60 DISL x (x being loop)
LD 60 ENLL x (loop should enable and DCH establish if no issue)

LD 60 LCNT x (to check counters on specific loop)
once enabled and dch established
LD 60 RCNT (to reset counters on all loops)
