If you have two clickable buttons that both display an image in the same place, how do you make the first image disappear when you click on the next button to make the second image appear? That is without having the two overlap.
just make either image into a movieclip with 2 frames. leave the first frame blank, and put the image in the second frame. Put a stop action on both frames. Now, when you target the movieclips, just tell it to go to either frame1 or frame2 depending on if you want the image to appear or disappear. Hope this helps, shout if you need any more detail! Well let me explain the situation a little better than I did in my first statement. I have eight movies in one main movie. The eight movies are listed to the left and you can click on them to play on the right. However, if you click on one movie and then another they overlap. I hope that helped clear anything up you may have been unsure of.
Sounds like your loading MC's onto your main movie...just unload the layer that they have been put on...like if you load the movie onto layer 2, unload layer 2.

Luke! So that you keep learning...
You don't load on layers, you load on levels!
When you load a movie on level 2, for instance, and there's already a movie loaded on level 2, the new movie will replace the first one... No need to unload the old movie in that situation. If you want to clear all previously loaded movies on all levels, just load your new movie in level 0.
Re-loading your original main movie on level 0, would thus clear all the other movies loaded from that original movie's first pass!
