I need to print ¨ characters over letters which can't usually have them such as x or s, etc. Also, i need to print these same letters with single dots over them. Any ideas on how to do this? A friend told me to try and find something about overprinting.

Thx in advance,
Tyurk

Type your text block as usual. The type a new text block with the charcters you want overtop the first characters, and manually place.

After you are sure that you won't need to edit the text, you can hold Shift key while using the pointer icon to select all of the text blocks, then click ELEMENT > GROUP to combine them so that if you reposition the text block, they all will move and not lose position.

Primitive, but it works.

If the characters are standard ASCII, the easy way to do it is - Alt 0214 = Ö; Alt 0221 = Ó; Alt 0220 = Ü

cheers

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Try this.
After the letter you want to accent, type in the accent mark (").
Move the text cursor to between the letter and the accent mark.
Use Alt+LeftArrow to negatively kern the characters until the accent mark is over the letter.
If you have to adjust the following character, use Alt+RightArrow.
