Hello,

I’ll try my best to describe this but I wasn’t on-site to actually hear the noise. The paging system is connected off an analog port on a VG224, cross connected to a Tam-B, then to the Amp. Dial the paging access number and you get the alert tone and then a loud burst of static and then the message. Anyone ever have a problem like this or know what it might be? Thanks

I be it's feedback and not static.
Volume too high on the paging system side causing the issue? Speakers too closely installed?

Have someone turn the volume down then test again.

They tried that but that didn't resolve the problem. Worked fine on our Meridian PBX, this only started since the install of the VG224 and the tam-b. Thanks

the local tech pulled the the cross connect from the VG224 and connected it to his butt-set, dialed the paging number and we got the same noise. So that pretty much rules out the amp and tam-b.

My knee-jerk recommendation would be try another VG224 port - and you may have to try more than one. If you've ever bridged onto these (unterminated in the on-hook mode) with an amplifier you are apt to find that in the idle/unterminated state that several (but not necessarily all) of your VG224 ports literally roar with white noise. The first time I heard it I questioned how they ever got FCC type-accepted.

It ended up being the VG224. I configured a VG202 and had them connecct it just for the paging system and no static at all. Thanks
