Overflow routing on a Norstar 0x32 1

I have 3 POTS lines setup in PoolA as Line001, Line002, & Line003. I have a "grandfathered" outgoing rate on these lines and like to use them to call out as much as possible.
I also have 4 centrex lines setup in PoolB as Line025, Line026, Line027, & Line028. When all of the POTS lines are being used, if I try to call out, I get a "no free lines" message on my display.
I verified that Overflow routing is enabled on all 3 lines in PoolA, so when they are all being used, shouldnt I pull a line from PoolB and get an "expensive route" message instead?
The system used to work like this untill it crashed a couple of weeks ago. I got almost everything else reprogrammed but this. I must have something screwed up in the routing but I cant figure out what. I have service modes on at the control set and a routing mode selected that is on all the time.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Have you allowed access to pool b for all of the phones?

Sounds like you everything else right.

I am probably overlooking something, but I am not sure where so setup individual set access rights for line pools -I have all of the lines on both of the pools assigned to appear & ring at the control set. At that set, I can pick any line from either pool and dial out.

Build route 001 to use Pool A which has the POTS lines in it. Then set up Route 002 to use Pool B which has your Centrex lines in it.

Go under Services to SCHED: NIGHT, press Show, set service to manual. Press Next and set OVERFLOW to Y.

Build a Destination code to get out. Remember to remove the line pool code first.

DEST CODE 9, set NORMAL: 002, press Next and set NIGHT: 001.

Then whoever is the control set will press Feature 873, Password is 266344. The screen will show SERVICES ON. This will stay on the phone at all times. If it doesn’t then your overflow is no longer working and all calls are going out over the Centrex lines.

That should do it.

Thanks for the fix - hope you can clarify a few things for me on your reply - Here is my current state:
MISC- LineAccessCode = 9
LinePoolA AccessCode = 9
LinePoolB AccessCode = Nothing
ServiceMode1
Name=Night
Ring=Manual
Rest=Off
Route=Auto
Time=2300-0700
ServiceMode2
Name=Auto
Ring=Manual
Rest=Off
route=Auto
Time=1700-2300
ServiceMode3
Name=Routing
Ring=Manual
Rest=Off
Route=Auto
Now, to follow your instructions, I should clear the LineAccessCode = 9 & LinePoolA AccessCode = 9 then set ServiceMode1 Route to Manual and Overflow to Y. Then setup DestCode 9. What does the NORMAL:002 and NIGHT:001 in your response refer to?

Thanks,

Addendum to the above:
ServiceMode3
Time = 0400-0400 - I interpret this as being on all of the time. The control set currently shows service modes on set to this mode.

Yes, clear the line pool access code as the system will not allow you to built destination code 9 if you are already using 9 elsewhere.

Normal: 002 means that under normal dialing conditions use Route 002. Night: 001 means that when in Nightmode use Route 001. So you will be dialing out during nightmode at all times (that's the only way to get the overflow), then if all the lines in that route are busy it will overflow to the lines in the Normal mode using route 002. OK, I think I understand what you are getting at, but assuming that we are currently dialing out in the "routing" service mode (thats the one timed to be active all of the time), shouldnt I set this mode to use route001 instead of Night Mode? Or, does the Mode1 (NightMode) have some other significance? i.e. we never change modes, we use the same one all the time.
Also, when you suggested:
Go under Services to SCHED: NIGHT, press Show, set service to manual. Press Next and set OVERFLOW to Y.
What were you suggesting that I set to manual, the routing which is currently set to Auto?
Thanks,
Craig

Well, I think it's time I knew what software level you're dealing with since it helps with what comes up in programming where. ;-)

In any case, you could technically leave it at Auto. Also, if the control set already says that a Service mode is on, it kind of sounds like you have this set up already. MRoberts

Thanks again for the quick reply. It is most generous of you to offer to help...Our software is "USA MICS XC1.0". We bought the system new in 1996. The tech that installed it had it backed up on his home PC. Unfortunately he took off for Florida a couple of weeks before it crashed & left me high and dry with no phone system and no backup. I pretty much restored it to this point from what I could find in the manuals and some notes I had form working with him now and then. I am going to stay late this evening and change the routing as you suggest. I want to wait till the others leave before I reprogram anything. I also want to get a hold of the software and back it up myself after I get everything back.
Thanks,
Craig

That's why the menus are off a little bit as I am working off 5.0 software.

Okay, so the closest thing I have is an R1 T1 book that I think will work. But wading through this on-line is going to be a royal pain in the rear. Waayy too much typing. Email me and give me your phone number. I will call you and you will need to have a programming phone close so that we can look at what you have.
Okay? MRoberts
