The computer have started to just shut-down by itself - like someone pulled the power chord.
When I restart the computer I get the message "Overclocking failed". I haven't done anything to change the values in the BIOS tried to overclock the computer - I wouldn't even know where to start.

I haven't had this issue before and it all started this morning. I have run both NAV (didn't pick up anything) and Adaware which found 15 files that were put into quarantine but the computer still just shut down.

Anyone have any suggestion what it can be.

Thanks

Jonas

If you can get into the BIOS reset them to default or failsafe settings. If you can't, try resetting the CMOS jumper.

The answer has always been 42

what type of motherboard are you using?
The cmos\chipsets may be flaky. ive worked with an asus PS5800VM which displayed "overclocking failed" which had nothing to do with the cpu. check to see that the bios settings are set to auto.
