Overalpping Objects?

So if I have two imported image objects that I want to be able to overlap on one another (or have portions of each overlap on one another), but the objects are not perfect squares, circles, etc. How do I make sure these objects can overlap without any white space surrounding it?

Clipping path around the edge of the item you're talking about. You draw it with the pen or pencil or whatever, then Ctrl-7 or Cmd-7 (Mac) with both selected and the edges should disappear.
