Hello,

I am running SQL 2005 and am new to this version. I have produced a maintenance plan to back up my db's on a daily basis and have made the expire after 7 days. It does a full back up for every day and creates a new file.
Is there a way to automatically delete the files after 7 days?. At present I delete manually.
Should this happen anyway?
Many thanks

You will need to add a step to the maintenance plan. There is a seperate step which covers the removing of files from the hard drive.
