On another computer than my last entry. We have started to notice warnings that it is to hot. I dont know what could cause it. Wondering if maybe fan. Wondiring if ne one else is haveing problem????

Could be that both your problems are heat related. First thing to do is turn off the machines & look inside and see how dirty they are. Most overheating problems on a machine that has been running OK for some time are due to dirt (fluff usually) getting in between the fins on the CPU heatsink. (You may need to remove the CPU fan to get the dirt out)

Some people reckon you shouldn't use a vacuum cleaner to suck out the dirt, but instead blast it out using a can of compressed 'air'. Personally I've never had any trouble using a vacuum cleaner - maybe I've just been lucky.

Fit filters on all fans that suck air into the case to prevent the problem re-occurring.

Where are you seeing these warnings relating to possible excessive heat?

Is the room where your computer's located getting warmer than normal? Summer weather making things hotter?

Whilst you've got the case open, check that all the fans are revolving properly, and that includes CPU fan, PSU fan, and all case fans.

Vacuum cleaner nozzles are renowned for getting a nice static charge building up on them - this is where problems can occur if the necessary precautions aren't taken. I presonally prefer to use a small paint spray compressor to blow dust and dirt out of heatsinks, computer cases, etc.

to tell you the truth I use an old yard blower and I blow the hell out of the boxes I get to service. I have yet to see canned air blow a computer completely clean...

it's amazing how much dust builds up over a short time period
