over flow error when writing to flat file 1

I have a database that gets updated then writes records to a flat file. It works fine to a point but then I get an overflow error. Is there a way to increase the size allowed?
Or some way around this?

Are you saying that you are writing too many records to the flat file? How many lines?

It appears that way. Because less records works fine.

roughly, how many lines are you writing, and how long is each record?

I'm writing to notepad and it appears that the max is 45 to 54k.

Thanks for the help. I had a counter that had to be changed to long-int.
