Alright Guys,

I used to install the whole range of Panasonic PBX's up to and including TDA's before I went Mitel and have been asked to have a look at a new NCP500 with the possibility of programming it with 8 Analog CO's and 32 Digital extns.

The NCP500 is on v5, I have the correct prog tool for it and can get connected. The system is configured with 1xDHLC4, 2xLCOT4, 2xDLC16 and the IPCMPR. There are no intentions to use any virtual extns or IP capabilities of the system but after initialising the system, the 2nd DLC16 card is coming up with error code 90 - Over Card Limitation exceeded.

I have gone through the install manuals and can see no reason why this would happen as the system capacity table does not say it can't have two installed.

Is there anything I've missed or have I misinterpreted the manual?

Thanks, Stephen.

Right, from a bit more investigation I can now see that the NCP500 can only have 20 Digital extns which isn't gonna be enough. Might have to get the NCP1000 instead as this can have 36 digital extns.

Are you sure its a v5... The v 5 system did allow the second slot to be used as a extension slot with 32 extensions

I have assumed its a v5 because I couldn't login to it until I updated my prog tool to the latest v7 and it comes with the ncp500 v5.

How can I tell the actual ver of my system?

The NCP 500 version 5 can now take a load of 44.
By 44 it means 44 Phones. SLT slots included even if you are not pluging them in.

The version of the ipcmpr is v5.0.0.2 however there is a new fault. Only 16 phones can be connected out of the 20 available. 4 keep getting knocked off when 20 are installed. I can see from the error log that there is a error code 91 which states that PT Over Connection.

Why am I only allowed 16 PT phones plugged in if I have 20 port available?

Cheers.

What country are you in. Could you have a ncp500 with a x or Bon the end of the code

I'm in the uk. From further investigation it turns out we can only have 12 extns plugged in maximum. I uninstalled the dhlc4 and just left the dlc16 in with 16 extns plugged in which are a mixture of 7665's an dt321's and the last 4 ports get ignored. They say ous in port properties and when trying to ins them I get a card obstacle error. It seems somewhere the system is being told 12 is the maximum it can have.

You have the 500 x or v. It will be on the white tag saying ncp500x this unit is locked down to 16 ports 12 digital and 4 slt if using dhlc card
You can get a licence to unlock it to full system or change it for full unit if new

I'll have to check when I'm back onsite. It certainly makes sense. Thanks for your help.
