Dear All,

We use Netware 6 and Groupwise 6.5.3. We came back after the long weekend
and one of the Groupwise servers no space left. It looks like over the
weekend. When I checked up the server to see there were thousands of
files on one of the offiles directories (over 300,000) and it was taking
over 4GB of space. All the files were 16KB in size (each file) and it
looks a file was created every second. I have started deleting these
manually and the space is back up.

It doesn't look like anyone had a rule, I checked the GWIA logs. Any
ideas anyone as to where these came from ? I have seeing this once
before, but didn't know how it happened. It was in GW 5.5 not 6.5.

Many Thanks for any help.

Varuni

Did you watch the OFUSER directory for steady and abnormal growth in a user mailbox?

Thank you sstoppel for the reply.

No strange sizes on the user and msg database. We do a scheduled job on a Sunday to run a Ofcheck on all users and msg database. It does two jobs, A&F structure and a content. I think what may have happened is the backup job on Saturday over ran in to two tapes and couldn't finished and it locked a file (msg9.db) and for some reason this has resulted in this problem. This is my understanding, I hope I am right as I can stop this happening again. We are still deleting the files. So far got 14GB back.

Many Thanks
Varuni
