Outside Auditor Request

Hello:

My company is being audited for compliance and one item I have to prove is what the Backup Exec logs state is backed up is actually on the tapes. Is there a way to create a report of what date is on a tape? This would be outside the catalog on the backup exec server...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Not directly from the tape - the only way you could have got that is when the backup was made and you Job Log setting included Summary, Directory and Files.

The only way you could do it, and you need a bit of disk space somewhere on your network is to setup a Backup to Disk device and then run a duplicate job from the tape to the Backup to disk device.

You will need 9.x and higher to do this. and make sure you Job Log setting is turned on to give u the info you need.
