Output to CEdit Controls (Doubles)

I'm doing some basic math in a function and I want to know how my output can be in Engineering mode and Scientific mode for example:
Engineering mode is in Multiples of 3's and Scientific is all other.


(Engineering mode)
3.E3, 4EM, 4 E-3 and etc.

(Scientific mode)
3E2, 5E-2, 6E4 and etc.
