Hi, I have set up a macro that runs some VBA to alter a table, then a macro that outputs the new table to Excel. For the most part it works, but when the data is exported to excel, every cell has a ' placed before it so its not actual numbers. This project is for a client who would not be willing/able to always do the edit/replace in excel, so I need to find a way to avoid this. I'm having to use an Access97 database exporting to Excel2000. Could that be causing the problem?

Thanks

What is the datatype setting of the number fields which have the leading apostrophe when exported to Excel?

A query could select the values to be exported and convert any non-numeric fields that hold digits to nymeric values for excel. CDbl, CLng, CCur etc

That query might suit for "altering" the table. What kind of actions is the first macro doing? And keep in mind that, what a macro does is always possible for VBA to do the some with more flexibility and error handling
