I have a server with two applications, one is a MySites collection and the other is a company portal. Company portal is https:, mysites is not at the moment. I recently added SSL to the portal site. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this problem or not.

Basically, when I create a task list or calendar list on the portal site and open it using "Connect to Outlook" it will open and show me everything in the list at the moment but after that, Outlook will not see it anymore and Send/Recieve gives me a 0x80070005 "You do not have permissions to view the sharpoint list. HTTP 401."

Any ideas?

Oh and it works flawlessly on the Mysites page. FYI

This is the error I get:

0x80070005 You do not have permission to view the Sharepoint List. Contact the Sharepoint Site administrator. HTTP 401

Here's what solved it.

If you get this trying to open Sharepoint lists like calendar or tasks or contacts in Outlook, what fixed it for me was making sure the application pool was exclusive to my sharepoint site. I had other sites using the same application pool and that's what was causing the problem. Hope this helps people.
