An nyeong ha se yo, ye good people at Intech!
thanks for all the hard work (and that by itself is an understatement!) all these while!
i really hope you would be as kind enough as to help me with the following problems;
i'm running a small network of about 8 computers for my mom's office, of which 1 terminal functions as the gateway to the Internet. All other computers connect to it via a ring topology and have individual outlook express installed as default mail program. currently, staff access and download their e-mails to their respective computers. my questions are as follow;
1) would it be possible to configure the 'server' pc to download all mails from different accounts and store them in its local hard-disk; and then allow the individual users to download their own mails from this 'server'?
i understand that this would substantially decrease backup time.
2) if yes, how do i go about configuring each pc?
3) how do i backup outlook express properly (yet in the fastest possible way?)?
for win ME and XP?
the outlook express folder (where the *.dbx files are) on my windows ME computer is located at;
\\Rt-delta\C\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{66308FCE-0639-4DA7-......
and the main folder is at;
\\Rt-delta\C\Program Files\Outlook Express
the other problem i face is that the computer currently set aside for checking e-mails is to be faced off soon. this computer runs Outlook Express 5 on WindowsME, whereas the replacement computer will run OE6 on WinXP. Hence could you please advise me on how to backup all my mails, mailboxes/folders, addresses (everything!) and move it to the new computer? Would it be possible to save the settings and retrieve mails from the new PC as we would normally do on the old one?
