A colleague at the office has a .pst file which is showing as 685kb. He ran the inbox repair tool, which hopefully would have brought the filesize down considerably. He re-opened the .pst file in outlook....it still says its 685kb but all of his emails do not show? Any ideas? Or is there any other 3rd party software other than the inbox repair tool that we can try?

Appreciate the help.

opps & that should be MB NOT KB...sorry...also he never backed up first:-(

You may want to try running scandisk on the system to see if it can recover the data.

You can look for other suggestions at

Thx Joegz the Ontrack EasyRecovery Pro V6 software did the trick & recovered the .pst file 100%. recommend looking at their software.
