Outlook XP Startup problem

I have installed Office XP SP2 including Outlook but when I try to start Outlook for the first time I get an error that says I need Outlook Express 4.01 installed on my computer. I have Outlook express 6 installed but it makes no difference I still cannot start Outlook. I have tried the repair function and uninstall and re-install but still the same error. I have done a Google search and can't find a reference anywhere. Any help is appreciated. Running WinXP Pro with 256 MBRAM, 20GB HD

if it weren't for flashbacks I'd have no memory at all
