Hello...

I have installed Office XP on our Metaframe 1.8 (TSE 4).

This are ok but there is one problem. In Outlook, when a user gets a HTML email, it takes several minutes for this email to open. This only happens the for the first HTML email, and once this email is opened, other HTML emails open fine at a regular speed.

I have read a lot about Office XP and Terminal server on the MS site and it should work fine. I can't explain why the first time you open a HTML email, it takes so long...

Any ideas?

I'd guess your Internet settings may not be configured correctly - it looks like IE is checking to see whether it can get on line or not (or maybe if it needs to get on line), returning a negative, then holding that setting.

1. Check to see if this still happens using a Microsoft Terminal Server Client - I imagine it will.

2. Run Filemon, to see if any permissions are being denied, or any locations not found, such as mapped shares.

If it's taking several minutes, there could be an rpc error - check the event logs.

Are you running the latest Service packs (SP6 for TSE and SP3 for MetaFrame).

Hope this helps
