My passwords are not saved for my multiple e-mail accounts when I end the session of Outlook with XP office. I have to retype them everytime I re-enter my outlook after leaving...does anyone know why?

Have you tried this....
In Outlook, go to Tools->Accounts
If you are not already on it, click on the Mail tab.
You now have a window with your multiple mail accounts.
For each one, click on it and hit Properties on the right hand side. Then go to the Servers Tab, and midway, you should see 'Account Name' and 'Password'. If the password is not entered, do so, and tick the button underneath for 'Remember Password'. And that should do the trick, but as I say it must be done for each one.

(You also may want to check that the box on the bottom of the general tab in the same window, is also ticked...Include this account when receiving or synchronising mail) Jay~

i work at an isp, a number of winxp (all HP so far, and all today) have that problem, and clicking on remember password has had no effect on it actually remembering the password. any other suggestions?

One more post on this...

It seems that instead of hacking the registry there is a fix as part of a Service Pack see the link below for details ...
