I have Exchange 2003 server and one Windows XP machine that is giving me problems since a recent service pack install.

It is not happening on other PCs (XPs and 2000) so I'm concentrating on the one XP box.

thread605-1010046 touched upon this, but the writer did not come back and say whether it was resolved or not.

We can not take the "easy route" and uninstall the service pack.

This PC is always logging on with USERGENERIC. Several other employees access their e-mail via Outlook Web Access (OWA) from this PC.

When we directed our browser to the URL for our OWA, the typical login box appears. Then it then seems to reject the correct username and password and prompts again. We are 100% certain at this point we are using the correct username and password.

If we cancel out of the password prompt after typing it in correctly one time, we will see a split screen (just like OWA is split) with "HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized" on both the left and right of the screen. If we then hit the REFRESH button in the Internet Explorer window, the mailbox opens.

This silly dance to get a mailbox open is not expectable with the group of users we are trying to support.

It does not matter if we type in username, domainname\username or username@domain.com--same results with each.
