i have a exchange 5.5 mail server on the inside of my network and i want to install owa on a web server based on the dmz.

does anyone know what ports i need to open to allow the web server access to the exchange server.

has anyone tried this? any advice i might need to bear in mind in setting this up?

Thanks in advance

Port 80 if you are just using http or 443 if you are using https. There are tutorials on the Cisco website about mail server configuration with the PIX. They are pretty straight forward and clear.

Hope this helps.

MMIMadness,

Beside putting your owa in DMZ, you may also want to deploy SSL (verisign or others) to provide additional data protection. If budget allow, you may want to try third party (messageware.com )software such as AttachView (auto clean IE cache and attachment file) & sessionGuard (browser timeout).
