Outlook Today monitoring Public Folder problem

We have added a public folder to Outlook 2003 Outlook today so we can see when new email messages arrive to it. The problem we have is that Outlook Today says there are two new messages in that folder and when you go to that folder it is empty.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
