I've got such a confusing issue. I've been researching for weeks but cannot find any commonality. Maybe someone can shed some light...

I have a client at another company that I interact with via email. They have Outlook installed. I have Lotus Notes on my computer. They always recieve my messages right away, however sometimes when they send a reply to me, I will often get it up to 7-8 hours late (about 90% of the time). Sometimes it will come through ok (about 10% of the time). could this be a filter somewhere that needs to be changed?

For a test, I had set up a Yahoo email account and I recieve those completely fine from them. I do need them delivered to my lotus notes inbox though. So then, I figured that possibly that it could be that any web based email platform will recieve the messages fine, so I set up free email forwarding from HotPOP.com and it worked the first time but since then, its been 7-8 hour delays again. Does someone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be?! Is this more on my end or theirs? Hopefully I described ok but I can provide more information if needed.

Thanks everyone for any help you can provide...

If you have admin - you could check your gateway/Domino logs to see when it arrived at your company.

If just a user - you can view the Properties of the email document and view the Received field to see the smtp headers - may show when Notes received the email.

I assume they arent sending big attachments... some email servers delay sending these for a while...
